Mostly, I base my still-life paintings on whatever is to hand, but I may buy some lilies or other flowers. I very much enjoy painting textiles as part of the still-life setup. I am inspired by Matisse and Cézanne and in contemporary work, by Sarah Bowman and Vanessa Bowman.
